It should be noted that most of the dead suffered from serious cardiovascular disease, diabetes, tumors, kidneys, lungs and obesity. 30% of people with a concomitant pathology had several diseases. In general, the proportion of diseases was (one or more): 61% – cardiovascular diseases; 40% – diabetes; 13% – neoplasms; 4% – kidney disease; 9% – lung diseases; 4% – obesity.

According to reports, as of April 4, 2020, 28 people had died from COVID-19 in Ukraine: 19 women (68%) and 9 men (32%).

By age group: 30-39 years – 2 people; 40-49 years – 2 people; 50-59 years – 9 people; 60-69 years – 9 people; 70-79 years – 5 people; 80-89 years – 1 person. Five of the deceased had a history of traveling abroad in the last 14 days before the onset of clinical symptoms.

It should be noted that the average duration between the onset of symptoms of the disease and death was 9 days, and from the time of hospitalization to death – 4 days.

“The 28 patients were hospitalized. Among them, 64% received treatment in intensive care units and were on artificial ventilation of the lungs or oxygenation of the extracorporeal membrane,” the center said.

In addition, everyone who died from COVID-19 has had a positive laboratory test for the presence of the causative agent of this disease.

As reported by Ukrinform, according to data from the Public Health Center, as of April 4 at 10:00 a.m. in Ukraine, there were 1,096 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19, of which 28 were fatal, 23 patients recovered.
