The candidate for the post of Finance Minister of Ukraine was supported by 256 duties
At an extraordinary plenary meeting on 30 March, on the second attempt, Verkhovna Rada voted to appoint Sergei Marchenko as Minister of Finance. 254 deputies “voted” for this decision.
Since 2002, Marchenko worked in public service in the tax authorities and the Ministry of Finance. Since 2011, Marchenko worked at the coordination center for the implementation of reforms under the President of Ukraine.
In 2016, he became Deputy Minister of Finance Alexander Daniluk. And in 2018, he transferred to the post of Deputy Chief of Presidential Administration Petro Poroshenko, from where he resigned in 2019.
Now the new finance minister will be one of the signatories to the memorandum on the new program with the IMF, as on March 30, deputies adopted the necessary laws for cooperation with the fund – on the land market and the so-called “anti-Colomians”. Another difficult task Marchenko – the implementation of the crisis budget.

Yesterday, 30 March, Verkhovna Rada adopted in reading a law on the reform of certain banking regulation mechanisms number 2571-d, also known as “anti-colomy”. The legislation was supported by 267 deputies with the required 226 votes. In addition, the parliament also supported the second reading of the bill on the opening of the land market in Ukraine.
