“The court postponed the trial of the former head of the SFS and the head of the Ukrainian department of the SFS to April 28,” the statement said.

It is specified that Monday in the framework of the examination of this case, a meeting was planned, however, the lawyer of one of the accused, who did not appear in the courtroom, asked the court to postpone all meetings that were to be quarantined.

“The college of judges of WAKS, after hearing the arguments of the parties, took a decision which partially satisfied the request of the defense – the examination of the case was postponed to 9:00 am on April 28, 2020”, said noted the SAP.

In addition, as indicated, the court decided to hold a quarantine videoconference with the Rivne Court of Appeal with the participation of one of the defenders of the case, “due to the impossibility of his arrival at the court because of quarantine. “

According to Ukrinform, ex-SFS chief Roman Nasirov was arrested by NABU on March 2, 2017 as part of the investigation into the “gas activities” of former deputy Alexander Onishchenko, but two weeks later, Nasirov was released on bail in the amount of UAH 100 million.

Nasirov is charged with abuse of power (part 2 of article 364) and official forgery (part 1 of article 366 of the Criminal Code).

According to investigators, during the period 2015-2016. he authorized the companies of the deputy Alexander Onishchenko not to pay the rent of the state for the use of the basement. According to the investigation, these actions of Nasirov caused damage to the state in the amount of more than 2 billion hryvnia.

On January 31, 2018, Nasirov was removed from office as president of the SFS, but on December 11, the Kiev District Administrative Court decided to reinstate Nasirov to this post. The Cabinet of Ministers has appealed this decision.

On March 4, 2019, the Shevchenkovsky District Court in Kiev, on its own initiative, reduced the amount of Nasirov’s guarantees from 100 million hryvnia to 36 million.

On September 27, the Center for Combating Corruption reported that the Supreme Court of Cassation had quashed all previous court decisions which had been passed in favor of Nasirov.

The Nasirov case was transferred from Shevchenko District Court to the Anti-Corruption High Court.

On November 8, VASK held a preparatory meeting on the Nasirov case and scheduled the first substantive hearing on November 19.
