At Bankova – rally to support suspects in Sheremet case
Under the walls of the office of the President of Ukraine, a mass action “A year and a half behind bars. Where is the justice, Mr. President?” in support of the suspects in the murder of journalist Pavel Sheremet – Yulia Kuzmenko, Andrei Antonenko and Yana Dugar.

About two hundred people joined the action, people are constantly arriving.
Activists near the entrance to the president’s office displayed a large “Free Kuzmenko”, “Free Riff” poster, periodically chanting “Where’s the justice?”
As the organizers of the improvised scene rally noted, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is politically responsible for the investigation of the murder of journalist Pavel Sheremet after joining an Interior Ministry briefing on the statement of the suspects in the case in December 2019.
In addition, activists say the case is “withdrawn” and people unjustly imprisoned are now behind bars.

Now, on the makeshift scene, the word has been taken by the mother of one of the suspects in the case of Yulia Kuzmenko.
Earlier, the Veterans Movement of Ukraine and more than 15 veterans ‘and volunteers’ organizations confirmed their participation in the action.
The organizers of the rally called the day before to join the rally without political flags, as well as to maintain a social distance during the event.
As indicated, Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov announced on December 12, 2019 the detention and the suspicion of the accused in the case of the murder of Sheremet.
The investigation suspects the doctor and volunteer Yulia Kuzmenko, the nurse of one of the paratrooper battalions Yana Dugar and the ATO veteran Andrei Antonenko.
Kuzmenko and Antonenko are now in prison. Dugar was elected as a preventive measure in the form of a night arrest.

On May 21, lawyer Leonid Maslov said that the investigation into the murder of journalist Pavel Sheremet had changed the suspicions of Andrei Antonenko and Yulia Kuzmenko. Then the media reported that Dugar had changed the suspicion.
On May 22, another lawyer for Dugar, Nikolai Orekhovsky, said that the preliminary investigation into the murder of journalist Pavel Sheremet was finished.
Journalist Pavel Sheremet died on July 20, 2016 in Kiev following a car explosion.
