Cabinet added COVID-19 to the list of doctors’ occupational diseases
The Cabinet of Ministers has completed the list of occupational diseases of medical workers with coronavirus (COVID-19).
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of the Economy.
“On May 13, at a government meeting, it was decided to complete the list of occupational diseases that medical workers may receive due to their professional activities with coronavirus disease (COVID-19). The current list occupational disease contains about 100 elements, including infectious diseases such as tuberculosis, hepatitis, AIDS, “according to the report.
Such a decision will strengthen the protection of the rights and interests of medical workers and others who are directly involved in eliminating the epidemic and treating patients with COVID-19 disease.
In addition, the Ministry of Health has been given the power to determine the list of occupations and positions for these workers, in the same way as the Ministry of Health has determined the list of health workers who are charged extra for working with the coronavirus (order of the Ministry of Health no 768 of 04/02/2020).

Occupational diseases include illnesses which arose as a result of a worker’s professional activity and which are caused solely or mainly by exposure to harmful substances, certain types of work and other work-related factors, employee’s sole exposure to harmful physical, biological and chemical factors.
