The Cabinet of Ministers supported the allocation of UA 2.2 billion from the Fund to combat COVID-19 to the Social Insurance Fund for payments to doctors.

The decision was made at a government meeting on May 20, reports a correspondent for Ukrinform.

“Doctors are at the forefront today, risking their lives daily. We understand that they should receive adequate material support and have insurance guarantees. Therefore, the Cabinet of Ministers argued today the allocation of 2.2 billion UAH from the COVID-19 Fund to the Social Insurance Fund “. – Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal commented on this decision in his Telegram channel.

According to him, 471.1 million UAH will be used to pay for material support and insurance payments, in particular a lump sum indemnity to the members of the family of the medical agents and other healthcare workers who died from COVID-19. An additional 1.8 billion UAH is planned for hardware security payments.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law “on amendments to article 39 of the Ukrainian law” on the protection of the population against infectious diseases “(concerning additional guarantees for the rights of medical workers and other workers engaged in the protection of the population against infectious diseases and members of their families) “.
