Cabinet of Ministers increased pension supplement for those who lost their breadwinner during Euromaidan
The Cabinet of Ministers approved a resolution proposing to increase the amount of the pension supplement for disabled family members who lost their breadwinner during the Dignity Revolution.
The decision was made at a government meeting on June 10 without discussion, reports a correspondent for Ukrinform.
According to the explanatory note to the draft resolution, it is proposed to modify paragraph 2 of resolution No. 76 “on the social protection of the family members of persons whose death is linked to participation in mass demonstrations which took place from November 21, 2013 to February 21, 2014, and the people who posthumously awarded the title of hero of Ukraine for civic courage, patriotism, heroic respect for the constitutional principles of democracy, rights and freedoms, selfless service to the Ukrainian people, shown during the Dignity Revolution “of March 28, 2014.
In particular, it is proposed to increase the maximum pension, which establishes a supplement to pensions linked to the loss of breadwinner, to disabled members of the families of people whose death is linked to participation in mass demonstrations organized by the November 21, 2013 to February 21, 2014., from 10,000. UAH to the maximum pension, defined H. 3 Article. 27 of the law “on compulsory state pension insurance”, and excluding wages (income) from the elements which are taken into account when determining the amount of this surcharge.
According to the document, the implementation of the law will require additional expenditure from the state budget in the amount of 1.66 million UAH per year.
It should also be noted that the decree comes into force on January 1, 2021.

As indicated, in accordance with part 3 of art. 27 of the Law “On Compulsory State Pension Insurance”, the maximum pension (including allowances, increases, supplementary pensions, targeted cash assistance, special merit pensions to Ukraine, indexation and other pension supplements established by law, with the exception of additional payments to certain categories of people who have special services to the mother country) cannot exceed ten minimum subsistence levels established for people who have lost their ability to work.
According to Ukrainian law on the Ukrainian state budget for 2020, the amount of the living wage per month for people who have lost their capacity to work is 1638 UAH from January 1, 2020, from July 1, 1712 UAH and from December 1, 1769 UAH.
Thus, in Ukraine, the maximum pension is: from January 1 – 16 thousand 380 UAH, from July 1 – 17 thousand 120 UAH, and from December 1 will be 17 thousand 690 UAH.
