Commemorative Days Due to Quarantine Postponed to June 6 - PCU

This year’s commemorative days due to quarantine are moved to the Trinity Parents Memorial on Saturday June 6.

This is recalled by the Orthodox Church of Ukraine on Facebook.

“Quarantine changes the way we celebrate holidays and commemorations somewhat, but their essence remains unchanged. Already after a week, commemorative days begin when we share the joy of the resurrection of Christ with our loved ones who have passed away However, this year in connection with quarantine we will be able to visit the places of eternal rest of our loved ones in the cemetery a little later – at the funeral of Trinity parents on Saturday June 6, 2020 “, according to the report.

The Ukrainian Orthodox Church says that the significance of the memorial days after Easter is not picnics at the graves (which contradict the spirit of the memorial days), but intensified prayer for loved ones.
