Committee recommends that Parliament pass a bill to protect aquatic living resources
The Committee on Environmental Policy and Management recommended that the Verkhovna Rada adopt Bill 2765 “amending certain legislative acts of Ukraine concerning the protection of aquatic bioresources and their environment”.
This was reported by the information office of the parliamentary apparatus.
“On the basis of the results of the examination, the committee decided to recommend to the Verkhovna Rada that the bill be placed on the agenda of the third session and examined in plenary, to take it as based on the results of the examination at first reading, “the statement said.
The purpose of the adoption of the bill is to promote the rational use and the protection of the environment, the creation of a more effective mechanism to fight against the violations of the requirements of the legislation in the field of the protection of the environment and eliminate their negative consequences.
The Committee supports the initiative to strengthen the responsibility for the violation of the rules for the use of wild fauna, namely fish and other aquatic biological resources, as well as to strengthen the responsibility for the violation of the requirements for the protection of their living environment (pollution, dredging, coastal protection, irrigation and drainage works) and migration routes, resettlement, acclimatization and crossing.

As reported by Ukrinform, Bill 2765 was registered with BP by a group of MPs led by Alexander Marikovsky, vice-chair of the Committee on Environmental Policy and Management, on January 16, 2020 .
