Technology giant Apple has confirmed the purchase of Next VRR Startup, which specializes in broadcasting programs like concerts and sports in virtual reality mode. According to Bloomberg, Next VRR, as a company, is closing down and will be fully absorbed by Apple.

Earlier, rumors of a new acquisition of Cupertin’s company appeared in early April. According to the 9to5Mac portal, which was the first to publish the news, the transaction was valued at $ 100 million. In a Bloomberg comment, Apple did not disclose the details of the transaction: “Apple buys small technology companies from time to time, and we usually do not discuss our goals or plans.”

It is unclear how Apple Next can use the technology created by VVR. It is reported that the company is developing augmented reality glasses and a special headset, the principle of operation similar to that of Windows Mixed Reality, HoloLens and Magic Leap One devices. It is believed that Apple TV Plus can use Next VVR cameras, broadcasting event streams to smartphones and other devices that will be paired with AR and VR gadgets.
