Coronavirus mortality in Ukraine is 2.6% - Lyashko

In Ukraine, the coronavirus mortality rate is now 2.6%.

This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Health, chief medical officer of health Viktor Lyashko, on the program “Freedom of expression”, reports a correspondent for Ukrinform.

“Today, Ukraine has a death rate of 2.6%. We see and note that the elderly are the deadest. Today, the elderly aged 50 and over represent 84 to 85% of all deaths. People over 60 make up 52 and over percent. In particular, people who have died from coronaviruses have chronic diseases, “said Lyashko.

According to him, it is chronic diseases that cause complications incompatible with life.

Lyashko noted that now, in different countries, different mortality from the coronavirus. In particular, in Italy and Spain, more than 10% of patients with COVID-19 have fatal consequences. At the same time, Germany accounts for 1.9% of deaths.

Lyashko added that when the coronavirus outbreak in China started, mortality was 3%.

As indicated, in Ukraine, on the morning of April 6, 1319 cases of COVID-19 were recorded, including 38 fatalities, 28 people recovered.
