Coronavirus tests for Ukrainians dead in Bali – Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Local police have confirmed the deaths of two Ukrainian citizens on the island of Bali (Indonesia), the results of the coronavirus test will be known on May 3.
This was announced to Ukrinform by the director of the consular services department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Sergey Pogoreltsev.
“Yesterday, the Department of Consular Services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received a call from a Ukrainian citizen that his parents, Ukrainian citizens, were found dead in a room in one of the hotels on the island of Bali ( Indonesia), where they lived. According to the Ukrainian Embassy in Indonesia, the local police have confirmed the fact that our compatriots have died and have started investigations, “he said.
According to the diplomat, the bodies of the dead were delivered to the local hospital.
Pogoreltsev said that tests are currently underway to detect the possible presence of COVID-19 coronavirus in the deceased, results are expected on May 3.

“In the case of a negative test result, an autopsy will be carried out to determine the causes of death of Ukrainian citizens,” he said.
Pogoreltsev assured that the Ukrainian embassy maintained contact with the Indonesian law enforcement authorities and a medical establishment in order to establish the circumstances of the case and to organize the repatriation of the bodies of the deceased Ukrainians.
He also added that the Department of Consular Services and the Embassy are in contact with the relatives of the deceased and are keeping the matter under control.
Earlier media reported that Indonesian police had opened an investigation after the discovery of a Ukrainian couple who died on the island of Bali.
