COVID-19: clinical drug trials only take place with patient’s consent – Ministry of Health
Clinical trials of the drug for the fight against coronavirus “Bioven” are exclusively with the consent of the patient.
This was announced at a briefing on May 7 by Deputy Minister of Health Irina Mikichak, reports a correspondent for Ukrinform.
“The Ministry of Health, in accordance with the decrees in force, approves the proposal of the State Expert Center. In order to make a decision on clinical trials, the manufacturer contacts the State Expert Center with a set of documents. It determines the institutions where these The set of documents includes, in fact, the approval or consent of the health facility, is also a binding decision of the ethics committee of that facility. The tests are performed only with consent The patient or the volunteer is insured against the test, “said Mikichak.
She stressed that the drug “Bioven” is a drug from the Ukrainian manufacturer. According to her, it has already proven to be effective in a number of complex chronic diseases.

Mikichak added that the establishments where they will test the drug are determined by the manufacturer himself in partnership with the health establishments.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Ministry of Health has authorized a clinical trial of the Ukrainian drug “Bioven” for the treatment of coronaviruses (COVID-19).
In Ukraine, at 9:00 a.m. on May 7, 13,691 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19, of which 340 were fatal, 2,396 patients recovered. 507 new cases were registered per day.
