COVID-19 peak expected in Ukraine in mid-May – Ermak
In Ukraine, the maximum incidence of COVID-19 is expected until mid-May.
This was stated by the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak during the online discussion “Pandemic, reform, war and peace: a view of the White House of Ukraine”, organized by the Atlantic Council and posted on Facebook.
“Our scientists say we expect a spike (incidence of COVID-19 – ed.) Before mid-May,” he said.
He noted that in Ukraine there are a relatively small number of people infected with the coronavirus, compared to other countries, and this is due to the fact that quarantine measures were introduced on time.

As Ukrinform reported, on March 12, the Cabinet of Ministers introduced quarantine in Ukraine to combat the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection. Now the quarantine in Ukraine has been extended until May 22, 2020 and, from May 11, it will be gradually reduced.
As of May 4, according to the cost center, in Ukraine, 12,331 cases of COVID-19 had been confirmed in the laboratory, in particular 303 fatalities, 1,619 patients recovered. 418 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded per day.
