COVID-19 Public Holidays: President Offers Audit of Children’s Camps
The work of children’s camps in the context of the coronavirus epidemic has increased the risks, so the rules of rest in them must be seriously taken into account.
This was discussed at a traditional meeting chaired by President Vladimir Zelensky to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the press service of the Head of State.
It should be noted that more than 80 epidemics of various infections have been recorded in children’s camps during the past summer, and according to Health Minister Maxim Stepanov, 1 to 1.2 million children are resting in summer camps every year.
“They are many children, and the rules for their rest under the conditions of the coronavirus must be seriously considered. At the same time, most of our camps are in a rather dilapidated state. We now have a good opportunity to conduct their audit, to repair if necessary, to increase the quality, comfort and nutrition criteria for children, ”said Zelensky.

In this context, Stepanov noted that the Cabinet of Ministers has already authorized the work of leisure centers and will examine the president’s proposal to improve the quality of summer camps.
Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said the government is attentive to information from WHO about the worsening situation of coronaviruses worldwide and that complacency is now the greatest threat.
