As of April 7, four cases of Covid-19 have been registered in the armed forces of Ukraine, one person has died.
According to the Ministry of Defense, this was announced by the head of the department Andrei Taran.
“Unfortunately, the 42-year-old woman died. She was an employee of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, held a civilian position as a boiler room operator in one of the military units in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. Since March 20, she has been undergoing outpatient treatment with a diagnosis of acute respiratory infections. A week later, her condition worsened, she was hospitalized at the Nadvirna Central District Hospital and on March 30, the woman was transferred to the intensive care unit. Yesterday at six in the morning, she died. The diagnosis of COVID-19 has been confirmed. I express my condolences to relatives and relatives, “said the Minister of Defense in a video message.
According to him, 87 people are currently isolated and self-isolated in the Ukrainian armed forces. The isolation of 18 soldiers ends in the next three days.
Andrei Taran said that Defense Ministry management is doing everything possible to protect personnel from the coronavirus.

“The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has developed algorithms for reprofiling military hospitals which will be used to treat sick military personnel. An observation area has been determined in the event of mass admission of patients, ambulance vehicles have been designated for evacuation. The necessary stock of medical and sanitary products, household goods, disinfection, necessary medicines and personal protective equipment for medical personnel of health establishments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has also been created. Among other things, the checkpoint was strengthened and the thermometry was organized with infrared thermometers without contact of all people crossing the checkpoints, “said the head of the Ministry of Defense.

The minister added that the defense department is constantly monitoring infectious diseases among the personnel of the armed forces, but one must be careful and understand that everyone is equal before the virus.
