Denisova demands that the police impartially investigate the beating of journalist Hromadske
Following the beating of Hromadske journalist Bogdan Kutepov, the Verkhovna Rada mediator, Lyudmila Denisova, appealed to the direction of the national police to request an impartial investigation.
The Ombudsman informed Telegram of this.
“Deliberate obstruction of the legitimate professional activities of journalists, or the prosecution of a journalist for the performance of his professional duties, for reproach engages his responsibility in accordance with Ukrainian laws,” said Denisova.
The Commissioner noted: the actions of the police can be considered as an obstacle to professional activity.

Denisova also expressed the hope that the national police of Ukraine, on the basis of the results of an internal investigation into this fact, “will take all appropriate measures to ensure that those responsible obstruction of journalistic activities suffered fair punishment. “
As reported by Ukrinform, representatives of the TOR unit (police patrol unit) used force against a journalist Hromadske television channel to Bogdan Kutepov and broke his equipment when he broadcast action under the Cabinet of Ministers.

The journalist called the police saying that during the filming, the patrols hindered his professional activities.
