Deshchitsa hopes that Poland will soon open the border with Ukraine
Ukraine has completely and without restrictions opened its borders to Polish citizens and hopes that official Warsaw will soon also do so.
According to the results of the XIIth session of the Ukraine-Poland Parliamentary Assembly, during a joint briefing with the Vice-Marshal of the Sejm, Richard Terletsky to the Polish Sejm, said the Ukrainian ambassador to Poland Andrei Deshchytsa, reported a correspondent from Ukrinform.
“The border, closed due to the epidemic, does not allow us to return to normal human and economic relations … It is undoubtedly necessary to remove all restrictions at the border, to open it. resume the free movement of people on both Ukrainian and Polish sides of the border “, – said Deshchitsa.

He drew attention to the fact that the Ukrainian government had decided to remove restrictions on Polish citizens regarding travel to Ukraine, including the need to go through quarantine.
“Therefore, I hope that negotiations during the Parliamentary Assembly and directly with representatives of the Polish government will soon allow Poland to open the border (for Ukrainians – note), as it was before the epidemic, “said Deshchitsa.
The Ambassador drew attention to the fact that this assembly is very important, as dialogue continues at the interparliamentary level. He noted that many problems had accumulated, particularly in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, which needed to be addressed.

Terletsky, in turn, noted that during the Parliamentary Assembly of Ukraine and Poland, they discussed a series of issues in bilateral relations: the fight against COVID-19 and the exit from the crisis, medical and humanitarian cooperation, the resumption of communications between countries after the coronavirus pandemic, education and history.
“This year we are celebrating the anniversary of the Polish-Ukrainian union. We have different plans for the weeks and months to come,” said Terletsky.
He expressed the hope that a full-blown meeting of parliamentarians from both countries would be held this fall.
