Yuri Pedos, chief of the national police headquarters in the Vinnitsa region, suspended from his duties, has been appointed adviser to the chief of the national police.

This was announced on June 1 in Vinnitsa by the president of the national police of Ukraine Igor Klimenko, reports a correspondent of Ukrinform.

“General Pedos has been appointed as an adviser to the president of the national police and will be responsible for running the investigation center in the west-central district,” said Klimenko.

According to him, as regards the rest of the staff of the public institution of non-profit partnerships in the Vinnitsa region, who was dismissed and dismissed after the Brovary events on Friday May 29, “an official investigation is under way , everyone’s role will be assessed and we will also prove this information. “

As previously reported by Ukrainian News, the Vinnitsa area police chief, Yuri Pedos, has been suspended from office. His deputy – the chief of the criminal police and the head of the operational service – was relieved of his duties.

As indicated to the Ministry of the Interior, these management decisions were motivated by serious shortcomings and miscalculations in the execution of the work and in the organization of the work of the operational units.

On the morning of May 29, in Brovary, in the Kiev region, a skirmish occurred between the two groups due to the redistribution of passenger traffic with the participation of a hundred people. Then, on the spot, police officers arrested 11 participants in the incident. During further operational investigations, 17 other offenders were arrested. Personalities from 39 other people are established.

According to Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov, a bus with armed people came from Vinnitsa, another group arrived in the capital by three minibuses. “The carriers from Kiev called the so-called aunts, inviting them from the capital and the Vinnitsa region,” Avakov noted. According to the minister, a group from the Vinnitsa region is employed by one of the security companies.

As of May 31, a criminal offense under Part 4 of Art. 296 (hooliganism) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, 23 people.

As of June 1, 20 defendants in the Brovary shooting case have been selected as a preventive measure in the form of 60-day detention without bail. Another case will be examined today.
