In Ukraine at least 80% of the population will be infected with the coronavirus, but among those infected, no more than 20% will need hospitalization, and 5% will need intensive care, about 1% will need intubation.
Such an opinion in an interview with Ukrinform was expressed by Olga Golubovskaya, MD, an infectious disease specialist.
“80% or more (the population of Ukraine – editor’s note) will be infected. Of these, 20% will require hospitalization, and 5% will require intensive care, approximately 1% will require intubation. But now we are counting on not to allow this, because the death rate on the devices is very high. All over the world, “said Olga Golubovskaya.
At the same time, according to the doctor, Ukraine is facing the problem.
“Now patient growth is about the same as we expected. The burden on the healthcare system ranges from moderate to high in specialty and infectious clinics, and less in other clinics,” said Golubovskaya.

At the same time, Golubovskaya noted that the list of indications for hospitalization was considerably expanded.
“We have adopted many normative documents which indicate the indications for hospitalization. And these indications are much broader than in many European countries, where very seriously ill patients are hospitalized. We count on the fact that there has more indications for hospitalization and there is a large network of hospitals Now this is going to play a positive role. Because there is such a thing as medical surveillance, and we have to intervene before the patient “Does not become heavier.” It is expensive, but it is aerobatics, and if there are many patients, then we could not cope … In pathology often ektsionnoy laboratory criteria of severity are determinants They appear and change before the clinical deterioration becomes noticeable and even then we must intervene now gospitaliziruem optimal number of patients, “-… doctor stressed.
