As noted, World Embroidery Day is a holiday designed to help preserve the original folk traditions of creating and wearing ethnic embroidered Ukrainian clothing. Embroidery Day is traditionally celebrated on the third Thursday in May, this year the holiday fell on May 21. This day is not an official public holiday, but it is celebrated not only in Ukraine, but also beyond its borders – Ukrainians and all those who are attached to us and our culture.
