About 40 countries participated in the fundraising marathon. As the resource notes Deutsche WelleThe largest number of donations were made by Canada (780 million euros), Germany (525 million euros), France (500 million euros) and the United Kingdom (442 million euros). At the same time, the United States was not officially represented at the conference. According to news agencies, this fact increases the likelihood of competition in vaccine development. Nevertheless, many American philanthropists participated on the online stage, including singer Madonna, who promised to transfer nearly $ 1 billion to Global Response.
