The Ukrainian Public Health Center, in collaboration with the donor UA, announced a fully Ukrainian flash mob among blood donors dedicated to International Blood Donor Day.

This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Health’s Public Health Center.

“Every few seconds someone in the world needs blood. And it’s a voluntary and regular donation of donor blood that saves millions of lives every year. In Ukraine, the number of donors is decreasing due to “a pandemic. Only 70% of donors donate blood only once in their life”, in the message.

Note that participating in a flash mob is simple.

“From June 10 to 19 inclusive, become a blood donor. Take a photo that shows that you are donating blood. Post it on your Facebook page with the hashtag #iDonor or #iDonorka. During the competition, make your page open to all Facebook users, ”said the public health center.

The site has also published the rules “Who can be a donor”:

In addition, on the Donor.ua website, you can find a complete list of institutions where you can donate blood and recommendations on how to prepare for blood donation.

On June 19, 5 gift boxes will be drawn among all participants using random.org.

Reportedly, International Blood Donor Day is celebrated on June 14.

The decision to create it was taken in May 2005 at the World Health Assembly in Geneva. This day is a special manifestation of gratitude to the millions of people who save lives and maintain the health of others by donating their blood. In fact, the word “donor” comes from the Latin dono – I give.

In addition, on this day, attention is drawn to the need for regular blood donation to avoid its shortage in hospitals and clinics, especially in countries where the amount of blood donated is extremely limited.
