In Ukraine, from May 22, an adaptive quarantine will be introduced, which can be intensified locally in the event of an epidemic of COVID-19 coronavirus infection.

Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said this on the evening airs of the ICTV channel, reports a correspondent for Ukrinform.

“Quarantine will continue, but, as we promised, we are moving to adaptive quarantine. Therefore, starting on the 22nd day, a number of quarantine mitigations will be adopted, “said Shmygal.

According to him, the government will take a decision this week, which will allow, from May 22, a certain weakening of the quarantine conditions for transport, sports competitions, as well as hotels, but without swimming pools and restaurants, will be authorized. In addition, there will be a reduction in church services.

“From the 25th, that is to say that we take the time for technical training, the government will authorize the work of kindergartens, as well as the work of the metro,” added the head of government.

He explained that the central government in this adaptive quarantine releases state-level restrictions, but is constantly working with the city government, which will monitor the situation.

As reported, on March 12, the government introduced quarantine in Ukraine to combat the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection. In particular, commercial establishments were closed, except for grocery stores, pharmacies, petrol stations and banks. Subway work in Kiev, Kharkov and Dnipro has been stopped, land transport in cities has been stopped, inter-city and inter-regional car, rail and air communications have been stopped.

Since March 28, Ukraine has completely closed the border for scheduled flights, including aviation. On May 4, the Cabinet of Ministers extended the quarantine, but since May 11, restrictions have been relaxed.
