FSB “reflects” on yesterday’s detention of a Russian spy




The GUR of the Ministry of Defense refused to give information on the alleged detention in Crimea by the Russian special services of a Ukrainian citizen, accused of “spying”.

It was in an exclusive comment to Ukrinform, said a representative of the Intelligence Directorate General of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense Andriy Chernyak.

“The Directorate General of Intelligence will not comment on this information, at the same time, we think it is a provocative and fabricated response by the FSB to the detention yesterday by the Ukrainian security services of a Russian spy” said Chernyak.

According to Ukrinform, on April 14, counterintelligence of the Ukrainian security services arrested SBU Major General Valery Shaitanov, suspected of treason and terrorist acts. In particular, on the instructions of the Russian special services, he planned to kill the famous volunteer Adam Osmaev, said the SBU.

On April 15, Russian media reported that a Russian citizen of Ukraine was arrested in Crimea by FSB agents for espionage and attempted bombing.
