Gandzyuk and Sternenko cases: VSK will ask the president for a meeting
The Verkhovna Rada Temporary Commission of Inquiry, which oversees investigations into the attacks on Yekaterina Gandzyuk and other public activists, intends to send a letter to the president for the meeting.
This was told to journalists by VSK vice-president Solomiya Bobrovskaya (the “Voice” faction) after the meeting, reports a correspondent from Ukrinform.
“Due to the close of the meeting, I can tell you a little more. The committee has gathered testimony from the guests and will send a number of calls to law enforcement for more information, particularly at Prosecutor General and Security Services of Ukraine. We are also preparing a letter to the President on the need for a quick meeting in view of the current events in the cases of Catherine Gandzyuk and Sergei Sternenk. A year ago, the president has promised that these would be the main “red lines” for him – now is the time to prove it with actions, “said Bobrovskaya.
She added that Attorney General Irina Venediktova attended the meeting today and that the head of the SBU, Ivan Bakanov, did not come.

As reported by Ukrinform, VSK held a meeting on Wednesday April 29 to monitor investigations into the attacks on Yekaterina Gandzyuk and other public activists. He was scheduled to be heard by the Prosecutor General Venediktov and the head of the SBU Bakanov. However, they did not attend the meeting, which took place in the courtyard of the Kiev cafe, for lack of security guarantees.
On April 27, the Office of the Attorney General and the SBU announced the end of the investigation in the event of an attack on Gandzyuk. Activists, however, say that law enforcement officials transfer the case to the Gandzyuk attack organization to court without completing all of the investigative actions.
