The Kiev Court of Appeal arrested Igor Pavlovsky, the suspect in the attack on Kherson activist Yekaterina Gandzyuk.

“On the basis of the results of the examination of the appeal, the decision of the investigating judge of the Kiev Pechersky District Court on March 3, 2020 remained unchanged, the defense appeal was not satisfied “, the statement said.
As noted, on July 31, 2018, Yekaterina Gandzyuk was sprayed with sulfuric acid at the entrance to her home in Kherson. The burns affected 40% of the woman’s body. Gandzyuk underwent several operations, but died on November 4 of the same year.
Five people were arrested on suspicion of being involved in his murder, and on November 12, 2018 it became known that Igor Pavlovsky, the former assistant to the people’s deputy Nikolai Palamarchuk, was arrested.

On February 11, 2019, the attorney general’s office announced to the chairman of Kherson regional council Vladislav Manger the suspicion of organizing the assassination of Gandzyuk. The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention, but he went on bail of 2 million 497 thousand 300 hryvnia. On April 25, it was learned that Manger had been transformed into a suspicion of “conviction for bodily harm”.
On June 6, 2019, five direct perpetrators of the attack were sentenced to 3 to 6.5 years in prison. But neither the clients of the murder nor the intermediaries are still condemned and punished.

On March 3, the Pechersky District Court in Kiev arrested Igor Pavlovsky, suspected of having created a criminal organization and of illegal possession of weapons, until April 16.
