GBR seized documents for paintings from the Poroshenko collection – lawyer

Representatives of the National Bureau of Investigation searched the museum of Ivan Gonchar and seized documents confirming the legality and the acquisition of paintings from the collection of the fifth president Petro Poroshenko.
This was said by lawyer Igor Golovan to journalists, reports a correspondent for Ukrinform.
“Under the false pretext that they (the State Rescue Bureau – editor’s note) saved property, broke in, repainted the pictures, in my opinion, took these documents which confirm the legality of the acquisition and importing these tables, “he said.
According to the lawyer, the detective described the actions of the GDB as a “search”, but no court decision has been rendered concerning these searches.
Golovan also noted that during the search of the museum, there were “at least seven” representatives of the State Security Bureau, faces closed. He added that these GDB actions would be called.
“We will appeal their actions and file a criminal complaint,” said the lawyer.
In turn, the co-chair of the European Solidarity faction, Arthur Gerasimov, also confirmed that representatives of the State Security Committee had seized the original documents for the purchase of paintings, the customs declarations.
The parliamentarian stressed that these documents lay openly under glass in a museum.
Now the situation under the museum is calm, the media are on guard, representatives of the State Security Committee have left.
As reported earlier on Tuesday, representatives from the GDB came to the Ivan Gonchar Museum, where the fifth president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko opened an exhibition of paintings from the family collection.

On May 21, a video appeared on the GBR’s YouTube channel about the call of Petro Poroshenko as a witness in criminal proceedings, which explores the circumstances of the crossing of the Ukrainian border with the collection of cultural property, which consists 43 paintings by world famous artists from customs control. Poroshenko was supposed to arrive at the National Bureau of Investigation at 11:00 a.m. on May 26.
