The health ministry calls on Ukrainians to stay home for the May holidays.
This was announced during a briefing by Minister of Health Maxim Stepanov, reports a correspondent for Ukrinform.
“I ask you to stay at home for the May holidays, I ask you to observe the quarantine, I really want that in the morning, when I read the statistics, we should have 0 sick and 0 dead,” said Stepanov .
He pointed out that in Ukraine, as of April 30, 261 people had died from the consequences of COVID-19, these are real human tragedies, however, this figure is much lower than, for example, in Italy, where 27 thousand people died on April 30, and more than 203 thousand fell ill, or in Spain, where COVID-19 fell ill more than 236 thousand, and 24 thousand died.
According to the minister, the incidence rate of coronaviruses in Ukraine indicates that quarantine was introduced on time and has produced results.
At the same time, Stepanov noted that people who do not meet quarantine requirements, in particular, go to public events, endangering the disease not only of themselves, but also of their environment.

As reported by Ukrinform, on April 29, under the aegis of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, a gathering of small entrepreneurs was held to weaken quarantine measures. The entrepreneurs demanded that the government authorize the work of small and micro enterprises in accordance with health requirements. In addition, the protesters demanded equal working conditions during quarantine for everyone: for the well-known retail chains, restaurants, etc.
As of April 30, in Ukraine, COVID-19 has been confirmed in 10,406 people.
