Health Ministry Proposes To Increase Treatment Rates For Stroke And Heart Attacks
The Ministry of Health has announced for public discussion a draft resolution of the Council of Ministers on raising prices from July 1 for the provision of emergency medical care, treatment of stroke and heart attack.
The draft resolution of the Council of Ministers of Ukraine on the modification of the procedure for implementing the program of state guarantees of medical services for the population in 2020 was published on June 16 on the website of the Ministry of health.
“The bill proposes: to provide a new tariff for medical services for the provision of emergency medical care, the treatment of stroke and heart attack; additions to the procedure, according to which additional funding is assumed for health facilities which, under the agreements with the NHA, will receive less funding than in 2019 “, indicated in the explanatory note to the draft decision.

In particular, the proposed changes include an increase in the treatment rate for acute cerebral stroke in hospital from 19,332 to 26,947 hryvnia, and the rate for medical care for acute myocardial infarction in hospital from 16,001 to 30 108 hryvnia.
The price of medical services for emergency medical care is from 11,661 to 16,393 hryvnias.
It is proposed to introduce new rates from July 1 to December 31, 2020.
It should be noted that the implementation of the proposed steps requires additional costs from the state budget, namely the fund for the control of acute respiratory diseases COVID-19 caused by the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 and its consequences. .

As Ukrinform reported, on April 1, Ukraine launched the comprehensive medical guarantee program – a list of medical services that the state guarantees for the patient. Almost all specialized medical institutions on municipal property have signed an agreement with the NSZU.
In turn, Health Minister Maxim Stepanov said that the Ministry of Health would establish a price list for the provision of medical services for 4 treatment packages, and increase funding for hospitals that received less funding in 2020 compared to 2019, when the medical facilities were financed by the granting of a medical subsidy. .
