Hospital managers report only one in two COVID-19s – Lyashko
Each case of COVID-19 disease in healthcare providers should be considered an occupational disease.
This was announced on Facebook by the Deputy Minister of Health, Chief Medical Officer of Health Viktor Lyashko.
“Regarding the cases of illness of doctors, it is necessary to inform the National Labor Service, which conducts an investigation into each of these cases. Unfortunately, health facility managers overlook this. Out of more than 3,000 cases of COVID-19 among medical personnel, only one in two illnesses has been reported to date! To date, the investigation has only been completed in 10 cases. In 7 of them, a link has been established between the profession and the disease, ”says the report.
Lyashko noted that the situation was discussed on May 15 at the next meeting with employees from Gostrud, the National Food and Consumer Service and the Ministry of Health.
In particular, according to him, all the heads of the laboratory centers were responsible for sending urgent epidemiologists to the profile committees.
