Analysts at App Annie have produced a report stating that the first quarter of 2020 was the biggest demand for applications for users of Android and iOS devices. In particular, users spent 20% more time on programs and games than in 2019.

Users purchased applications for a total of $ 23.4 billion. Of this, $ 15 billion is on the App Store and $ 8.3 billion on Google Play. Most of the paid apps were games. For iOS, the figure is 65%, while Android users spent even more on games – 85%.

Experts associate the figure with quarantine, which was introduced worldwide. Owners of Android smartphones typically spent a lot of time at social and entertainment events to watch movies. IPhone owners use TikTok, YouTube and Tinder more. In the first quarter of 2020, 31 billion applications were downloaded. This is 15% higher than the previous year.
