Hotmail is a free Webmail service launched by the Microsoft Corporation back in 1996 by Sabeer Bhatia and Jack Smith in California. It was one of the first most recognizable webmail services in the world. Therefore, millions of users trust and use its services.
However, recently, Microsoft announced that it is shutting down Hotmail and moving the millions of users to Outlook.com, a rebranding of Windows Live Hotmail. It came with an improved user interface and features. The old Hotmail users can still keep their @hotmail.com email addresses, but new users cannot do so. Instead, they can only create their email accounts with @outlook.com addresses.
Since Outlook.com is the current official name of formal Hotmail, users set up their Hotmail account in Outlook.
