Finally, the moment has arrived – the world is slowly and carefully ending a strict quarantine regime, which lasts an average of two months in most countries. As you know, the epidemic has significantly affected the global economy and caused massive changes in trade, but the change, as it turned out, is only the beginning.

The removal of restrictions in many countries revealed a new reality for business: the end of quarantine does not mean that the virus is lost and the population is safe. Conversely, removal of quarantine poses a new threat that could provoke another wave of disease, whose economic losses can hardly be underestimated. In addition, entrepreneurs around the world face new demands from consumers and executives.

It turns out that the ability to complete isolation and return to work is only half the battle. As long as the coronovirus remains such a serious threat, and the economic crisis lags behind, businessmen have to learn how to meet the needs of new customers.

Total disinfection

Foreign companies are already showing a successful example of working “according to new regulations”. For example, in Hong Kong, local supermarkets began to equip escalators with disinfection devices. We are talking about devices that are equipped with handrail tape – with the help of UV lamps, the devices radiate the railings. Radiation power is usually set at 10–30 W / m2, which allows you to destroy the microflora.

Such devices make the environment safer, which is mainly beneficial for a single business. In Denmark, which became one of the first countries in Europe to weaken quarantine, supermarkets and some catering establishments set up external mobile stations to wash their hands. Before entering and leaving the institution, the consumer has the opportunity to wash their hands completely, not in a closed, small room. In addition, sanitizers cannot be compared with ordinary soaps as to disinfect skin.

Small and medium-sized businesses in Western Europe are already adopting the practice of mobile hand washing stations – particularly clever entrepreneurs installing washbasins near the entrance of small shops.

Thailand businessmen went even further and launched a robot in a network of newly opened shopping centers that scan visitors for fever. The system operates in all the largest stores in the country, such as ICONSIAM, Siam Paragon, Siam Center and Siam Discovery. Buyers are also offered to download a mobile application for entry and exit from the mall. If a potentially infected person is found near the buyer, a notification will appear on the smartphone.

New features

Restaurants are also not far behind. In Spain, visitors are increasingly offered to view menus and order orders in digital format – this reduces visitors’ contact with waiters and items, such as paper catalogs. And in Hong Kong restaurants you will also be given special bags for storing masks during the meal. In one of the institutions in Japan, protective acrylic partitions were installed on the table, following the example of China, Scandinavian countries, and the United States.

Transparent barriers are the trend of quarantine weather. They are set up in newly opened fitness clubs between treadmills, bars between visitors, coffee houses and hairdressers. Particularly advanced partitions have an additional layer of protection – delineation of antibacterial components, as well as variable transparency due to the regulation of current passing through the glass.

A different subject is the waiting room, which appears in large numbers in Spanish hairdressers and beauty salons. As the number of visitors to the room is limited, non-arrivals are offered a separate area with entertainment such as playing snooker or on a drum kit. The main point is that these were not traditional sets of “sofa-magazines”, which customers began to understand poorly because of concern.

In China, disinfectant dispensers are particularly popular – they can be seen in shopping centers, shops, gyms and beauty salons. Externally, the device resembles a steam humidifier, but it does not spray water, but a special antiseptic in low concentrations, safe for inhalation.

In addition to technological innovations, foreign businesspeople largely went for total price reduction. Due to the harmful effects of quarantine, the population of many countries felt a significant economic burden, which led to a decrease in purchasing power.

For example, in Poland, shops lure visitors to discounts, promotions and sales, ranging from 15 to 60%, and for older collections up to 70–90%. The same picture is seen in China and Scandinavian countries. The most attractive offers can be found in the fashion, automotive and flower industry segments.

Meanwhile, after the epidemic, Italian island authorities are going to pay half the cost of air tickets to tourists to restore the flow of customers. And in China, to encourage tourist demand, we have prepared favorable offers for hotels including luxury ones and other travel products with discounts of up to 60%.
