During the quarantine period the expense of Ukrainians varied depending on the area of ​​residence. Therefore, 30% of the residents of villages and urban settlements said that their spending had increased. According to the data, 27.7% of Ukrainians started spending more during the quarantine period. At the same time, 26% of respondents said that their expenses, in contrast, decreased slightly. A significant increase in expenses was noted by 13.5% of the respondents, a significant decrease – 16.1%. In addition, 60% of respondents stated that their accumulation would not last more than a month, or that they did not have at all.

It is reported that the survey was conducted on 9–10 April in the Ukrainian section of the Facebook social network using the online survey method. The survey included 800 respondents in a representative sample of gender, age, area of ​​residence, and income level.

Previously, we wrote that 57% of Ukrainians have sufficient funds that have not survived more than four weeks of strict quarantine. 6.9% of Ukrainians said their savings would last for several days or less, 12.1% for one week, 16.8% for two weeks, 5.7% for three weeks, 15.5% for four weeks, one to two months. 16.3%, 5.5% for 3-4 months, 2% for six months, 4.3% for more than six months.

According to Monobank, compared to the beginning of the year, for a week of quarantine from 16 to 22 March, the amount of Ukrainians spending on travel has decreased by 6.2%, and conversely, food spending has been reduced by 15%. According to the figures, Ukrainians also started spending less on cafes and restaurants, clothing and footwear, entertainment and sports: transaction volumes for each of these categories decreased by 6.9%, 6.5% and 5.4% respectively. In addition to the products, Ukrainians started spending more money on beauty and medicine – transaction volume in the category increased 4.6% since the beginning of the year. Also, according to OLX, during the quarantine period, Ukrainians began buying goods for hobbies and sports more often.
