If you stick to quarantine, the April 14 peak Covid-19 may not be - Lyashko

The maximum incidence of Covid-19, scheduled for April 14, may not be if you follow the quarantine measures.

This was announced on the program “Right to Power” on the channel “1 + 1” by the Deputy Minister of Health, Chief Medical Officer of Health Viktor Lyashko, reports Ukrinform.

“We can get around it if we adhere to quarantine measures. Before the introduction of quarantine measures, the peak was expected on April 14, now all experts, mathematical modeling shows that on April 14 we will not have a peak. The WHO announced yesterday to all countries: do not think about weakening the quarantine, do not give in to political games, keep your anti-epidemic measures at the level at which they were introduced, “said Lyashko.

He underlined that all EU countries which have used softening restrictive measures, given the low morbidity and mortality rates, have immediately suffered negative consequences.

“Ukraine has reached a thousand after all (patients – note), and our measurements show that we do not have such a rapid growth dynamic of 1000 to 10 thousand … We must increase the number of tests, but by at the same time, the mode of isolation allows us to reduce the number of contacts, the number of new diseases. We will see the results of the quarantine lasts in 7 to 8 days, following the dynamics. The growth that exists today in the region of 10% to 15% per day is predictable – and it is much lower than if quarantine measures were not introduced. We can pass the peak unnoticed for the entire health system if we adhere to the proposed measures, “said Lyashko.

The Chief Medical Officer of Health added that now in Ukraine, up to 30,000 tests can be produced per week, a further delivery of tests is also expected.
