In Ukraine, launched an application to track civilians during quarantine: how it works

The Ministry of Finance has created a promised mobile application to control self-isolation. The novelty is called “The Vedoma”, in the application they monitor whether civilian confirmation or insistence on self-segregation with suspected coronavirus Kovid-19.

The basis of the “Diy Vdoma” task is the distribution of push information to those who must inevitably follow self-isolation. In response, the user should take a picture of his / her face to confirm that he or she is in a place of registered self-isolation. At this time, the application will also send the user’s GPS data.

“For those who do not have smartphones, a team will be formed, a small call center that will call people, be interested in health conditions, and understand the needs. Now, it is probably less than 5% of such situations, ”wrote Mikhail Fedorov, Digital Transformation Minister.

“Diy Vdoma” has already appeared in the Play Market and App Store, for its failure to pay a fine. The issue of administrative liability may already be on the fact of quarantine violations.
