Metropolitan police arrived at activist Sergei Sternenko to check on the state of implementation of the preventive measure, but the activist did not let them enter the premises.

He announced it on Twitter and posted a screen from a surveillance camera.

“The Kiev police have come to my house. They want to” control “something about the house arrest. But they have no authority. The court only ordered the Odessa police to control the execution of house arrest. I explained that to them, “Sternenko wrote.

The activist noted that after that, law enforcement officers “went to consult”.

As reported by Ukrinform, on June 15, the Shevchenkovsky District Court in Kiev chose Sternenko as a measure of restraint in the form of a house arrest. At the same time, according to the activist, the place of stay under house arrest in the court decision indicated “a military unit in Odessa”, instead of registration, but he was “not allowed to go there, because it’s a sensitive business. “

“This determination cannot be respected,” said the activist, and noted that due to his non-compliance, prosecutors can then “request detention”.

Subsequently, the prosecutor filed a motion to change the address of the house arrest.

On Tuesday, June 16, Shevchenkovsky Kiev District Court judge Elena Meleshak granted the prosecutor’s motion in the Sternenko case to change the address to prevent the person from registering in Odessa for permanent residence in Kiev.

At the same time, Sternenko noted that, according to the court decision, monitoring of the activist’s compliance with the preventive measure in the form of house arrest was the responsibility of the Odessa police.

On June 11, Sternenko declared suspected of having committed crimes under art. 115 h.1 (intentional and unlawful infliction of death on another person) and art. 263 para. 2 (transport of cold steel without the authorization provided for by law) of the Criminal Code.
