Top Managers Nationwide Explain How Technology Has Changed The Way Companies Work
The Exclusive Bank Nationwide Building Society said that since the introduction of quarantine in the UK, the company’s employees have made more than 2.5 million video calls every month. For communication, Nationwide Employees uses Microsoft Team Services, an enterprise platform that combines chat, meetings, notes, and attachments in the workspace.
Nationwide is the UK’s first financial institution to start using Microsoft Teams in 2019. According to the company, the use of the platform rose 3000% a month before the start of quarantine.
The platform was used to maintain communication in a network of 12 thousand nationwide employees working at home as well as branches and contact centers.
Nationwide Chief Operating Officer Patrick Altridge said that using the platform allows the financial company to react quickly and adapt to quarantine restrictions.
“For us, this is not a service in case of unforeseen circumstances, but the fact that we will continue to develop in the future is a real extension of our effectiveness,” said Altridge.
According to him, all the conference rooms of the company’s new hub in London will be fully integrated with Microsoft teams, allowing remote employees to virtually hold meetings. In this way, Nationwide wants to provide employees with more flexibility to choose their mode of operation.
Recall that the Nationwide Building Society is the largest in the UK and one of the largest construction savings banks in the world (a special type of mortgage bank).
