Lyashko reported how many beds for patients with COVID-19 were made during quarantine
During the quarantine period in Ukraine, 26,000 beds for coronavirus patients were prepared in hospitals.
This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Health, the head of state health services Viktor Lyashko on the Freedom of Expression program on ICTV, reports a correspondent for UKRINFORM.
“During this period, while there was quarantine, while we were controlling the growth in the number of cases of coronavirus, and did not allow a peak to occur (diseases – NDE), We prepared 26,000 beds for that period. Now, 3,000 beds are filled with patients. That is, we see that 12 percent of the beds are filled with coronavirus patients. Despite the fact that we have 9,000 active patients, ” said Lyashko.

He noted that in Ukraine, the incidence of coronaviruses is not reduced. But, he said, the health system is now able to cope, and a decision has therefore been made to gradually reduce quarantine.
Lyashko also thanked the philanthropists for their help and the provision of medical products and personal protective equipment to health establishments.
“This is really what our local doctors felt. Since it was very difficult to obtain it through government mechanisms during the period of global shortage,” he added.

As reported, the government of March 12 introduced quarantine in Ukraine to combat the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection. In particular, commercial establishments were closed, with the exception of grocery stores, pharmacies, petrol stations and banks. Work on the Kiev metro, Kharkov and Dnipro has been stopped, the circulation of land transport in cities, interurban and interregional automobile, rail and air services has been stopped.
On May 4, the Cabinet of Ministers extended the quarantine until May 22, but from May 11, the restrictions will be relaxed.
As of May 4, according to the DSP, in Ukraine, 12,331 cases of COVID-19 had been confirmed in the laboratory, including 303 fatalities, 1,619 patients recovered. 418 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded per day.
