The mask regime could end before the end of the summer if the number of new cases of COVID-19 decreases during the quarantine period in Ukraine.

This was said by the Deputy Minister of Health and Chief Medical Officer of Health of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.

“If the number of cases decreases, it improves, so maybe we will not be masked all summer, but we will leave fairly quickly. We will also open kindergartens. If we find that seasonality does not affect the spread of the infection, then it will be more difficult. Then we will balance these 350 to 500 cases and the mask will become with us a full “friend” by the end of this year, “he said. -he declares.

According to Lyashko, although quarantine is in force in the country, the obligation to wear masks, use antiseptics and maintain social distance will remain.

The official also noted that the next quarantine exam will take place on May 22.

“… We are developing a quarantine exit plan in stages. We have already relaxed the restrictions since May 11. The next stage of the quarantine review is May 22. We will examine the evolution of the epidemiological situation” , added the head of state doctor.
