Maidan case: ex-prosecutor announced suspicions for prosecuting innocent people
The Attorney General’s Office announced a suspicion to the former prosecutor, who now works as a lawyer, for holding the innocent accountable during the Revolution of Dignity.
This is reported by the press service of the department.
According to the investigation, the former prosecutor of February 18, 2014, by preliminary conspiracy of a group of people with their leaders, as well as police investigators, baselessly accepted a report of suspicion of riots to three participants d ‘Euromaidan illegally detained. Subsequently, a restraint measure was illegally applied to the demonstrators – detention during the period from February 19 to February 22, 2014.

The suspect is accused of unlawfully obstructing meetings, rallies, processions and street demonstrations, committed by an official, by prior conspiracy of a group of people; malpractice; official forgery, as well as prosecution of a knowingly innocent person, related to the charge of committing a particularly serious crime (Part 2 of Section 28, Section 340; Part 2 of Section 28, Part 2 of the article 364 (as modified by 02.02.2014) part 2 of article 28, part 1 of article 366; part 2 of article 28, part 2 of article 372 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The preliminary investigation in the specified criminal procedure is carried out by investigators from the central apparatus of the National Bureau of Investigation.
