The Ministry of Education and Science, in collaboration with the public organization Smart Education, has prepared a manual which gives an overview of the main tools for organizing distance education, recommendations on how to establish a timetable, adjust the teacher’s work method and student comments, as well as quarantine assessment and monitoring functions.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science.

“This manual is a response to the coronavirus pandemic and forced quarantine in Ukrainian schools. Our children have not been able to go to school for nearly 2 months now, and teachers and teachers are quickly mastering the technologies and distance learning approaches. This period was a challenge, but also a good experience for our In the manual we have summarized best practices that may be useful to teachers. We are sure that the recommendations of our methodologists, as well as the experience of many teachers / teacher-practitioners will not only be useful for distance learning Chania 2019/2020 academic year, but will be a source of interesting ideas for full-time studies “, – said the co-founder of the NGO “Smart Education” Ivanna Kobernik.

It should be noted that the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine is currently working on updating the regulations on distance education. The experience of quarantine caused by the epidemic of coronavirus infection (COVID-19) should form the basis of a new document. The manual consists of two parts: general principles and tools for distance education and guidelines for distance education for pupils of different ages – primary, primary and secondary.

According to the Ministry of Education and Science, in the first part, teachers will find a detailed overview of the basic principles of distance education, common web resources like Moodle, Google Classroom, Zoom, etc. In addition, the manual contains a detailed description of the tools for organizing distance education – the use of video resources, online tables, tests and assessment tools.

The second part of the manual talks about setting up different modes of organizing distance learning, has published tips on how to create a calendar and timetable for teachers, as well as organize training for children with special educational needs.

The manual was prepared with the support of the International Fund “Vіdrodennya”.

As reported by Ukrinform, on May 4, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine extended the quarantine until May 22, but in a more simplified manner.
