The Ministry of Health plans to extend the COVID-19 PCR diagnostics in Ukraine to 80,000 tests per week.
This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine, the head of health services Viktor Lyashko in an interview with LB.
“A significant expansion of the PCR diagnosis of coronavirus disease is expected. Today, additional reagents have also reached us. We can now perform 30,000 tests per week, but we will increase to 80,000 tests per week”, a he declared.
According to him, today, all fields can do PCR tests, and private laboratories and laboratories of medical universities are actively involved in the tests.

“In addition, we brought 12 additional amplifiers – it’s a PCR diagnostic device – to increase laboratory capacity. In addition, we will attract private laboratories and medical university laboratories. And we will also take amplifiers from veterinary labs. We took a huge device, a lot of which we’re researching at the Blood Center, and one of the first in the world, we’re going to connect cartridges for GeneXpert devices – these are PCR systems that are now used to diagnose tuberculosis – Elat they also test for coronavirus infection, “- said the deputy minister.
