Ministry of Health: There is no need to involve medical students in the fight against COVID-19

The Ministry of Health planned to involve medical university students and interns in the fight against coronaviruses, especially for organizational and technical events, but today there is no such need.

This was announced by Health Minister Maxim Stepanov during a briefing on April 25, reports a correspondent for Ukrinform.

“All students, including medical college students and interns, were to be drawn exclusively on a voluntary basis. For this, they filled in the appropriate questionnaires; all this happens at the level of health services. It was planned to involve them in the fight against coronaviruses for technical and organizational events, but today there is no such need: we completely miss all of our medical workers if we look at the load on the medical system “Said the Minister.

At the same time, he said, if such a need arises, the Ministry of Health can attract volunteers from medical students.

“We have all the data on our volunteers they have filled in and they will be immediately attracted. This work is underway at regional level, ”added Stepanov.
