More than 50,000 Ukrainians have been brought to the police base, which is expected to be on self-isolation

The police are carrying out explanatory work and are monitoring the places of residence of the self-isolated Ukrainians.

This was said by the national police chief Igor Klimenko in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

According to him, the police currently provide security for 74 institutions – both medical and observation sites.

Klimenko said that the problems that initially arose when tracking returnees were caused by an inappropriate organization.

“Then the cabinet decision was just adopted, people haven’t had time to explain anything yet, the police explained along the way,” he said.

Klimenko pointed out that all those who had escaped from the observation sites, and there were not many, he said, were dismissed.

“Now decisions are being made regarding the forced observation of all citizens entering the territory of Ukraine,” said the head of the national police.

He said that in total, more than 250 observation sites have been identified in Ukraine. “Compulsory observation locations are now being determined for citizens returning from abroad,” said Klimenko.

He said that now far fewer people are returning to Ukraine than at the start of their forties, when 24 to 26,000 Ukrainians and foreigners arrived in the country only 24 hours a day.

“At border control, these people withdrew their consent for a 14-day self-isolation, their data was entered into the information portal of the national police. Today, more than 50,000 people are in this base In other words, each police officer can check each citizen using a tablet, if he is at the place indicated in the information message, “said the national police chief.

At the same time, he drew attention to the fact that the police communicate by telephone with Ukrainians on self-isolation, explaining the need for such measures to preserve their own health and that of others. “Now it’s much easier (to convince you of the need for self-isolation – IF), there is already an understanding of the situation around the world and in Ukraine. Most citizens understand that this problem is already on our territory “, summarized Klimenko.

As indicated, on the morning of April 9, 1892 cases of COVID-19 coronavirus were registered in Ukraine, of which 57 were fatal, 45 patients recovered. During the day, 224 new cases were recorded.
