This was reported by Antonov’s press service on Facebook.
“On April 14, 2020, the An-225 Mriya aircraft transported a record shipment of medical supplies from China to the capital of Poland – Warsaw as part of the fight against the global COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic,” said the press release.
It should be noted that in China, around 100 tonnes of medicines, laboratory tests, medical masks and other protective equipment, with a total volume of around 1,000 cubic meters, were loaded into Mriya.

“In aviation history, such a volume of cargo has never been transported inside the cargo compartment of an aircraft,” said state-owned Antonov.
This flight was ordered by Chapman Freeborn Airchartering Ltd (United Kingdom); it became the first for the An-225 after maintenance and modernization, which was carried out by specialists from Antonov GP. Antonov Airlines An-124-100 aircraft also operate charter flights of humanitarian and medical cargo to combat COVID-19.
From late March, April 14, Antonova Airlines, as a whole, carried more than 1.4 thousand tonnes of cargo from China to Europe, America and the Middle East.
