Yakov Smoly, head of the National Bank of Ukraine, wrote and presented to the President of Ukraine Statement Resigned on his own terms. The reason is political pressure on the National Bank, the regulator said in an official statement.
The National Bank’s board statement said the board members respect the NBU chief’s decision on the resignation and “share their warnings about systemic political pressure.”
