National Council Calls on Remembrance and Reconciliation Day Broadcasters to Make Program Changes
The National Television and Radio Council reminds broadcasters that May 8 is Remembrance and Reconciliation Day and calls for changes to their programs.

“On May 8 in Ukraine, according to the decree of the President of Ukraine of March 24, 2015 No. 169/2015, the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation is celebrated. The National Council reiterates the need to make appropriate changes to the television and radio programs that will broadcast television channels and radio stations today, “the statement said.
As noted, this date has been declared commemorative in order to honor the achievement of the victors of Nazism during the Second World War, veterans, members of the Ukrainian liberation movement, victims of the Nazi persecution, to perpetuate the memory of those who died during the Second World War, as well as the establishment of patriotism and national dignity, consolidation. society. The broadcasts of such a subject will be appropriate for the broadcasts of May 8.

When planning the programs and programs of May 8, 2020, the National Council recommends following the broadcasting rules on television and radio channels during the days of mourning (mourning, mourning) and the days of memory approved by the Decision of the National Council No. 1146 of July 23, 2015 (registered with the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine 11.08.2015 No. 967/27412).
