Nearly 600 medical workers in Ukraine fell ill with COVID-19

Since the start of the COVID-19 epidemic, almost 600 health workers have been ill in Ukraine.

This was announced during a briefing by Minister of Health Maxim Stepanov, reports a correspondent for Ukrinform.

“In total, since the start of the epidemic, 11,974 people suspected of COVID-19 have been detected in Ukraine, of which 1,659 are medical workers, COVID-19 has been confirmed by PCR in 3,372 cases, including 594” said Stepanov.

Yesterday, he added, confirmed COVID-19 disease in 64 medical workers.

According to laboratory centers, during April 12, the disease was confirmed by PCR by 270 people, including 69 hospitalized people, including three children. On mechanical ventilation devices – 4 people, among them there are no children or health workers.

In addition, according to Stepanov, 22 people were released during the last day, including 3 health workers.

It was reported that, according to data from the Public Health Center, at 9:00 a.m. on April 14 in Ukraine, 3,372 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19, of which 98 were fatal, 119 patients have recovered. 270 new cases were registered per day.
